The
Travelers had their roots in the musically rich
60's when Lewiston/Auburn served as central
Maine's Rock & Roll Capital. This band has
the accolade of having been the youngest band to
ever play at the renowned L/A Pal Hop, at the
average age of thirteen. As the first Rock &
Roll band in the state with a female front
person, Jeannie Martin, the band has always had
its own unique sound and style.
Over
the years, the band has evolved. Originally a
five piece band, the band now consists of four
members, three of which are from the original
band of the 60's. The Travelers have always been
recognized and applauded for the variety of music
they play, ranging from the hits of the 50's to
the rockin' 90's. They're emphasis in song
selection has always been, "if you can't
dance to it, we don't play it."
The
strongest feature of this band is its vocals. Two
of the members are professional jingle singers,
having sung on local radio and TV jingles heard
everyday such as, Marden's, VIP, Candlewick
Furniture, and countless others.
The
Travelers have always committed themselves to
providing the general public with great dance
music for the sole satisfaction of their
customers.
